Elisha Nelson "Eli" Manning was born in Louisiana and is the youngest of three sons in the Manning family. His parents, Olivia and Elisha Archibald "Archie" Manning, both hail from Mississippi. His father, Archie, is a former NFL quarterback, while his older brother, Peyton Manning, is also a retired NFL quarterback, most notably with the Indianapolis Colts and Denver Broncos.
Eli attended the University of Mississippi, commonly known as Ole Miss, where he played college football and earned several accolades for his performance on the field. Like his father, he became a member of the Sigma Nu fraternity and was honored as Sigma Nu Athlete of the Year from 2001 to 2003.
Eli Manning was selected as the first overall pick in the 2004 NFL Draft by the San Diego Chargers but was immediately traded to the New York Giants. He served as the starting quarterback for the Giants for 16 seasons, becoming one of the franchise's most iconic players.
During his NFL career, Manning set several New York Giants franchise records, including the most passing yards, touchdown passes, and completed passes. He also holds the NFL record for the most fourth-quarter touchdown passes in a single season.
Manning led the Giants to two Super Bowl victories—Super Bowl XLII and Super Bowl XLVI—both against the New England Patriots. In each of these games, he was named Super Bowl Most Valuable Player, becoming one of only five quarterbacks in NFL history to win the award twice. Notably, he became one of the few players to throw for over 4,900 yards in a season and win a Super Bowl that same year.
