Elvis Costello is an English singer-songwriter, composer, record producer, television presenter, and actor who was born on August 25, 1954, in London, England. His real name is Declan Patrick MacManus but he is better known by his stage name Elvis Costello. He grew up in London where he started his music career in the city's pub rock scene in the 1970s. He went on to release his debut album "My Aim Is True" in 1977 which received widespread, critical acclaim. Costello released his second album "This Year's Model" in 1978 and it went on to become number 11 on Rolling Stone's list of best albums between 1967 and 1987. Costello's third album was titled "Armed Forces" and featured the hit single "Oliver's Army" which reached number 2 in the UK. All three of Costello's first albums were featured on Rolling Stone's list of 500 Greatest Albums of All Time. Costello has also written several songs for film soundtracks including "God Give Me Strength" from the film "Grace of My Heart" and "The Scarlet Tide" from "Cold Mountian.
He was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Original Song. Costello was also nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Song Written for Visual Media. He has married three times with the first being to Mary Burgoyne in 1974. Costello went on to marry Cait O'Riordan in 1986 but they divorced in 2002. HIs third wife was named Diana Krall and the couple married in 2003. Krall and Costello have twin sons together.
