Erica Johnson

Erica Johnson is a senior television journalist and also a television host on CBC Television. She was born in the year 1964, 9th October at Vancouver in British Columbia. Erica appeared on a show called Marketplace for CBC Television.

Education & Personal Life

Erica did her education at Ryerson University of Toronto and she became a professional journalist in Radio in the year 1987. Erica’s parents were Olive and Ross and she had four siblings. Erica is married and she has a kid as well.  

Career

She worked for various radio stations including CFRB at Toronto and CKO at Vancouver. During the year 1990, Erica worked as a radio news reporter for CBL. Later in the year 1993, she switched from radio to television while becoming a part of CBC channel. She was in-charge of collecting and reporting “The Health Show”. After some years, she came back to Vancouver and then worked as a news reporter and host for CBUT. She was keen and passionate in health reporting and particularly interested in pharmaceutical industry. Erica shared the stage as a co-anchor for a program Wendy Mesley at Toronto.

This senior journalist was nominated for Gemini award four times for being the best anchor in presenting the news series. Once after getting the scholarship from the journalist association of Canada, Erica traveled to Kenya to present her documentary presentation for The National. The documentary presentation focused on education fall back among the Kenyan Girls. Moreover, Eric developed a radio documentary which was ultimately rewarding. This documentary was produced for The Current – which completely described the perturbing trends in babies living in the remote areas. 

During the year 1993, Erica Johnson migrated from radio journalism to television journalism. She became a part of CBC Television while she gave her fullest effort in launching The Health Show and repleting The National. In the later days, she traveled from Toronto to Vancouver and served there as health reporter hosting night hour news program and also appeared as a host at the weekend news. In her early days, Erica worked at CFRB at Toronto and she was working as a reporter and host in her first season. With her significant style and presentation, she grabbed the attention of world-class spectators. Moreover Erica was the first exultant women to host morning newscasts in the early days. She worked as a radio reporter for some years and further kept her image on stable even at the CBC programs too. Though Erica completely turned as a TV anchor and news person, she always enjoys her presence at Radio and you can hear her on The Current, while anchoring the morning show The Early Edition. She has hosted plenty of shows and events solely without sharing the stage with anyone and on the other hand, she has also worked as a co-host presenting many popular programs too.

Awards

With plenty of awards being bagged at her desk, Erica obtained the Freddie – the New York Festival Award, Gabriel Award, Golden Sheaf Award and many other RTNDA & Jack Webster Award.
