Erica Johnson is a senior television journalist and host on CBC Television. Born on October 9, 1964, in Vancouver, British Columbia, she is widely recognized for her work on the award-winning investigative show Marketplace on CBC Television.
Erica Johnson graduated from Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University), where she studied journalism. She began her professional career in radio journalism in 1987. The daughter of Olive and Ross Johnson, Erica grew up in a household with four siblings. She is married and has one child.
Johnson launched her journalism career working at a number of Canadian radio stations, including CFRB in Toronto and CKO in Vancouver. In 1990, she joined CBL as a radio news reporter. Her initial experiences in radio laid the foundation for a transition into television journalism just a few years later.
