Garrett Clayton is an American actor, singer, and dancer. He began performing during his high school years in Dearborn Heights, Michigan, where he was active in his school's drama club and took part in numerous theatrical productions.

Breakthrough with Disney Channel and Teen Beach Movie

Clayton achieved widespread recognition for his role as Tanner, a fun-loving surfer, in the Disney Channel Original Movie Teen Beach Movie, directed by Jeffrey Hornaday. Filmed in Puerto Rico, the movie featured a cast that included Maia Mitchell, Ross Lynch, and Grace Phipps. His character, inspired by 1960s beach-party films and musicals like Hairspray, helped solidify his status among young audiences.

Other Television and Film Roles

Before landing his breakout role, Clayton appeared in various television projects. He had guest roles on shows such as Shake It Up and Days of Our Lives, and later had a recurring role in the latter half of the first season of The Fosters.

He also starred in the Lifetime movie Holiday Spin, where he played Blake, a rebellious teenager forced to reconnect with his estranged father, portrayed by Ralph Macchio, after the sudden death of his mother. Clayton expanded his film credentials with a lead role as Brady Manion in the thriller Don’t Hang Up.
