Early Life and Education

Grace Victoria Phipps was born on May 4, 1992, in Austin, Texas, to parents Gil and Kate Phipps. She has one younger sibling, Liam Phipps. Raised in Boerne, Texas, she later moved with her family to San Antonio. Grace attended Robert E. Lee High School in San Antonio and was actively involved in Theatre Magik Children’s Theater throughout her childhood and teenage years. Her passion for the performing arts led her to study musical theatre, earning her graduation with summa cum laude honors in 2010.

Although initially interested in belly dancing, Grace ultimately pursued musical theatre, which paved the path for her acting career. In the same year of her graduation, she won the Las Casas Performing Arts Scholarship competition, a notable achievement that highlighted her talent in the performing arts.

Breakthrough in Television and Film

Shortly after moving to Los Angeles, Grace began her professional acting career. In 2011, she landed her first film role as Bee in the remake of the 1985 horror classic Fright Night. That same year, she appeared as Amy in the ABC Family series The Nine Lives of Chloe King.

Grace gained wider recognition in 2012 for her role as April Young in season 4 of the popular supernatural series The Vampire Diaries. As Miss Mystic Falls, she became a fan favorite within the show's ensemble cast.
