Genelle had a normal childhood and school life. She took part in a musical, during her last year of high school, which caught the eye of a teacher, who was also an agent. Genelle was asked about her interest in acting by her teacher and she accepted. Her teacher took her picture and sent it to agencies, which got her many offers. When she was 13 years old, she got her first perm. She let the perm grow out as the constant perm process was damaging her hair. She became famous for using natural products for her hair growth and trying different hair styles from time to time.

Genelle Williams was interested in acting from a very young age. She studied professional acting courses along with Dean Armstrong. She became very famous in Canada with her Kim Charlisle role of Radio Free Roscoe. In 2003, she took up multiple roles in various TV series. Though she is of Canadian nationality, she was welcomed into American film industry immediately. She gained a celebrity status in American film industry with Nickelodeon’s teen network and others. She took a break in her career and joined back in 2007 with her family show, The Latest Buzz. She then took the role of an innkeeper in Warehouse 13 from season four. In 2014, she appeared in The Lottery. Her first film experience was in 2004 with an un-credited role of a receptionist in My baby’s daddy. Her first credited role was in The Lazarus Child as young Lizzie. She then, acted in a lot of short films like Dahlia, Sabine and others. She was nominated for Gemini Awards in 2007.
