Personal

Born in June 1, 1970 in Perth, Georgie Gardner studied at the Dalkeith Primary School and later the St Hilda’s Anglican Girls School. After her high school graduation, she lived in Milan for two years. During that time, she learned Italian and also traveled widely while she worked as a nanny for an Italian family. She later returned to Western Australia to continue her studies. She joined the Academy of Performing Arts where she completed her diploma in performing arts with a major in media performance. She married Tim Baker. They have two children, and currently reside in Sydney.

Profession

Before starting her broadcasting career, Gardner served as news presenter for Radio 2NX and later for the FM Station, 2DAY FM till the year 1997 when she joined Ten Network. Gardner served as reporter and news presenter for a brief period at Network Ten at Ten News. She became a prominent news presenter during her stint at Seven Network where she was the co-anchor for the show ‘Seven News Sunrise’ alongside Mark Beretta. The show was later changed from morning telecast to public affairs programming in the morning. She was in the show for two years after which she served as substitute presenter for Seven News and also Sky News Australia.

Gardner started her career in Nine Network in the year 2002. She was the news presenter on National Nine News and also did afternoon updates. She was also made the presenter for the afternoon edition of National Nine News. She has the distinction of being the only Australian late night news presenter to appear on all commercial stations including Ten Late News, Seven Late News and Nightline, which is a late night version of Nine News.

Awards

In the year 1992, Georgia Gardner took up a cadetship in Newcastle, New South Wales at the Radio 2NX. Her work included reporting, writing, and reading the news. She was honored with the highest award in radio during her debut year, the RAWARD in metropolitan radio as the Best Newcomer in Australia,

Gardner loves all things that have Italian flavor. Her hobbies include photography and gardening. She also spends her free time helping charities that relate to underprivileged youth like the Oasis and Red Kite.
