Greg Olsen’s full name is Gregory Walter Olsen. He was born on 11 march 1985 in New Jersey, USA. He was born into a white family of American nationality. He spent his most of childhood in New Jersey and went to Wane Hills High School. He got to play in the school football team as he showed great potential that was observed by the coach and so he took him in the school football team.
He was very good at playing football as well as other games. He liked basketball at first and played basketball under the guidance of Chris Olsen who was his father as well as his coach. He soon became one of the best players playing at high school level. He was also nominated for the Gatorade Player of the Year award in 2001. At high school level, he completed 73 receptions for a total of 1474 yards. He also recorded 27 touchdowns in his high school career.
He was not just good at football but also other sports as well. In track and field, he recorded 11.40 seconds for the 100 meters dash which is very good at that level. He also did well in javelin and discus throw. In the javelin throw, his record was 59.83 meters and in the discus throw, his personal best was 46.63 meters.
After completing his high school education he enrolled himself into the University of Notre Dame. He, however, didn’t like the college much and due to this, he got a transfer to university of Miami the very year. In the first year itself he suffered a shoulder injury that left him on the bench for the most of the year. He started to play like a player he was destined to become in the year 2005. He played for the Miami Hurricanes in the first year. He was also a member of the infamous rap group called G-Reg which used to sing songs that had sexually explicit lyrics.
He was signed by the Chicago Bears of NFL in 2007 for three years. In his first season, however, he sustained a knee injury and was out of the team for the most of the season. In the second season, he started to play more often and completed 54 receptions and 5 touchdowns.
In 2009 he had the best season of his life when he started to have a very good partnership with the newly signed Jay Cutler and together they gave some very impressive performances for the team. In 2011 he was transferred to Carolina Panthers where he is currently playing. His career statistics have been impressive so far for the Carolina Panthers. In his last season, he completed 80 receptions for a total of 1073 yards at an average of 13.4.
He is married to Kara Dooley and has a son with his wife. He is very popular online and post regular pictures on Instagram as well as on twitter. His net worth is around $40 million with an impressive salary as well.
