Michael Bennett was born on 13 November 1985 in Texas, USA. He was born to African American parents who were of American nationality. He was very inclined towards sports since his childhood. He took much interest in playing football and baseball at his school in Texas. He started to play very good football in his school itself. He went to Alief Taylor High school which was in his neighborhood.
While still in high school he got an award for being the best defensive lineman in the district. He was also included in the All-district team in his junior years. In 2008 he played 11 games and with 12.5 losses he made 42 tackles and also 2.5 sacks. In 2009 he was signed by the NFL team Seattle Seahawks. He, however, did not have a good first season and after 6 months he was transferred to Tampa Bay Buccaneers in October 2009.
At Tampa Bay, he was given his natural position at defensive tackle where he played very well. He was with the Tampa Bay team for another 3 years and played his best season for the team in 2012 tackling 41 times with 9 sacks in total. In 2013 he was signed back by the Seattle Seahawks for $4.8 million. He is currently paying for then after an injury-laden first season. He got married to Pele Bennett in 2015 and has 2 children with his wife at the moment. He met his wife at a party and fell in love at first sight.
