Bennett was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Seattle Seahawks in 2009. However, his initial stint with the team was short-lived, and he was waived after six months. In October 2009, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers claimed him off waivers and assigned him to his natural position at defensive end.
