Henry Champ is a veteran journalist who was born in the year 1937, July 12. He worked for NBC News, CBC Newsworld network, CBC Television, CTV News network. This veteran broadcaster is now no more while he died on September 23rd, 2012.

Personal Life

Champ was born and brought-up in Brandon at Manitoba. Henry is an interesting personality and also a multi talented personality. He loved and enjoyed journalism, while he was also proficient in politics and sports. Henry has in-depth knowledge in all range of topics including sports, politics and journalism. This pro journalist is a father of 5 children and his wife Karen is also a far-renowned and famous journalist. Henry died out of lung cancer while he was facing physical complications since quite long time, reported his wife Karen.

Henry appeared smart and bright always with his arched and curved eyebrows where he represented the foreign correspondent with the hazardous zones. Champ had a chiseled look during his workmanship and career debut; he tamed himself with a common man look that impressed the viewers across the globe. This gentle man was 75 years of age while he died in the year 2012.

Career:

 Champ started his journalism career in the year 1960 while he was appointed as a sportswriter for Brandon Sun. In the later days, Henry switched over his career to the television world, whereby he worked as a correspondent in CTV for 15 years. Also Henry got the promotion role of Bureau Chief for CTV at Washington D.C., London and Montreal. At this period, Henry was the last correspondent to depart away Vietnam while there was a fall on the Saigon. Also, Champ was the only Canadian journalists to admit in the People’s Republic of China. Henry was also a part of CTV newsmagazine series during the year 1978 – 82, while all his presentations scored extreme recognition and fame for disclosing corruption and malfunctions of the Canadian aid to Hati and also covered plenty other social topics within.

Henry traveled to United States of America while he worked as a correspondent for NBC News for more than 10 years and further Champ was nominated to the Frankfurt Network Bureaus. He lend his service for 5 years there for the NBC’s congressional at Washington. Later in the year 1993, Henry moved back to his motherland Halifax in Nova Scotia and he worked as a host for CBC News Morning.

Education background

Henry did his education at Brandon University during the year 1957 – 58. Later, Champ did his education on Honorary Doctor of Laws at Brandon University during the year 2005. 

Other activities

This pro journalist dint rest at all until his death, while his participation was incredible in all regards. Until his death, Henry was active and he was a blog writer for CBC’S news channel. All his efforts and hard work was identified and tribute by RTNDA in the year 2009 where Champ got the President’s Award from Radio Television News Directors Association of Canada.
