Hugh Jackman is an Australian actor, singer, and producer who was born on October 12, 1968, in Sydney, Australia, to Grace McNeil and Christopher John Jackman. Both of his parents migrated to Australia from England and were devout Christians. Jackman is the youngest of five children and grew up in Australia even after his mother left for England when he was eight. In his early years, Jackman loved the outdoors and spent lots of time on camping trips and at the beach every chance he could get. He attended Pymble Public School and the all-boys Knox Grammar School on Sydney's Upper North Shore. While in high school, Jackman starred in the school's production of "My Fair Lady" in 1985. Jackman went on to attend the University of Technology in Sydney and graduated with a BA in Communications in 1991.
He landed several small roles in film and continued doing theatre work until he had a major breakthrough in 2000 when he landed the role of Wolverine in the Bryan Singer film "X-Men". He would become an iconic character and known to the world as the only man who could play Wolverine. Sadly, after appearing in several "X-Men" films, Jackman closed out his character's saga in the film "Logan". He is married to Deborra-Lee Furness on April 11, 1996.
