Hugh Laurie, born on 11th June 1959, now age 57, is a British icon well-known in the entertainment industry. After his first appearance in “Fry and Laurie”, he gained fame for his roles in various other TV shows including “A bit of fry and Laurie”, “Blackaddar” and “Jeeves and Wooster”. During the golden time of his career in the 1980s and 1990s, Hugh Laurie was also listed as the most watched man on the television in 2011 by the Guinness World Records and also enjoyed a successful life as one of the highest paid action in the British film industry. Birth of his career:

Inclined towards acting from an early age, Hugh Laurie joined Cambridge Footlights, the drama club well known to produce many actors and comedians. During his time as a part of the club, he met, Emma Thompson. After a short romance life with her, Emma was the one who helped Hugh by introducing him to Stephen Fry. After “The Cellar tapes” gained recognition as one of the best work; Fry, Hugh, and Thompson along with few others were selected to write and appear in Comedy Show, Alfresco for the Granada Television.

Later Fry and Hugh Laurie together worked on many projects and among them were Blackadder series. These were the time when Hugh Laurie, became known for his acting and also gained a reputation as a great comedian. It was due to his fame he also served as a guest appearance in the “F.R.I.E.N.D.S”, the best American show till date.

In the year 1995, Hugh Laurie started becoming a recognized part of Hollywood after he appeared in various movies including, “Sense and Sensibility”. He also starred in Disney’s “101 Dalmatians” in 1996, “Maybe Baby” in the year 2000 and “the flight of the Phoenix” in the year 2004.

Passion for music:

Hugh Laurie had been passionate and talented in music since he was a little boy. He first started playing piano at the age of six and later got interested in many other instruments like guitar, drums, saxophone and harmonica. His talent in the field of music was made apparent and well-known during his acting career especially in “A bit of fry and Laurie” and “Jeeves and Wooster”.

Laurie is also the vocalist for “Band from TV” a Los Angeles-based Charity Rock Group.

In the year 2010, Hugh Laurie signed a contract with Warner Bros. and released his own musical album “Blues”. He also performed at the closing ceremony of Cheltenham Jazz Festival in 2011. Later, in the year 2013, he released his second album “Didn’t it Rain” in the United Kingdom. Laurie stated in his biography that his passion for music will remain in his heart until his death.

Personal life:

Hugh Laurie married Jo Green, a theater administrator in London on 16th June, 1989. After marriage, he and his wife settled and decided to start a family in Belsize Park in North London. Together they have three children, two sons, and a daughter. The eldest son Charles was born a year prior to their marriage in 1988. The second son William was born in 1991 and daughter Rebecca in 1992.
