After his first appearance in “Fry and Laurie”, he gained fame for his roles in various other TV shows including “A bit of fry and Laurie”, “Blackaddar” and “Jeeves and Wooster”. Inclined towards acting from an early age, Hugh Laurie joined Cambridge Footlights, the drama club well known to produce many actors and comedians. During his time as a part of the club, he met, Emma Thompson. After a short romance life with her, Emma was the one who helped Hugh by introducing him to Stephen Fry. After “The Cellar tapes” gained recognition as one of the best work; Fry, Hugh, and Thompson along with few others were selected to write and appear in Comedy Show, Alfresco for the Granada Television.
Later Fry and Hugh Laurie together worked on many projects and among them were Blackadder series. Personal life:
Hugh Laurie married Jo Green, a theater administrator in London on 16th June, 1989. After marriage, he and his wife settled and decided to start a family in Belsize Park in North London. Together they have three children, two sons, and a daughter. The eldest son Charles was born a year prior to their marriage in 1988. The second son William was born in 1991 and daughter Rebecca in 1992.
