Fuhrman started her acting career at a young age when she was just 7 years old. She was spotted by a casting director working for Cartoon Network. She was cast on one of the shows on the network, Cartoon Fridays. Her debut in the big screen was in the year 2007 when she starred in the film ‘Hounddog’. She was later cast in the role of Esther in the movie Orphan with Peter Sarsgaard and Vera Farmiga. She has also appeared in the role of Gretchen Dennis starring opposite Jennifer Love Hewitt in the hit show on television ‘Ghost Whisperer’ and in the role of Grace O’Neil in the pilot version of the series ‘Justice’ in the year 2006. She has also appeared in many national commercials including K-Mart and Pizza Hut. She has also appeared in the program ‘The Tonight Show’ in comedy skits.

Other Interests

Fuhrman is an advocate for the Save the Children organization since 2010. She supports their Caps for Good project. She, along with several other volunteers, has helped to knit several hundreds of baby caps to bring down the death rate in new born babies in developing countries. She is also a part of the Advisory Board of the Love & Art Children’s Foundation, which is a non-profit outfit based in Los Angeles.

Fuhrman’s performance in ‘Ghost Whisperer’ as Gretchen Dennis has been honored with Young Artist Award Nomination. She has also been featured in the various magazines including Nylon, Teen Vogue, Vanity Fair, Marie Claire, Last Magazine, and V, H, Bust. Isabelle Fuhrman is to star in the remake of the 1977 horror movie ‘Suspiria’ by David Gordon Green in the year 2013. The film ‘The Hunger Games’ had Fuhrman auditioned for the role of Katniss Everdeen, but she was rejected as being too young (She was 14 years old at that time). She was later recalled and selected for the role of Clove in the film which brought in good reviews for her.
