Jamie Redknapp is an English retired professional footballer who currently works as an editorial sports columnist at the Daily Mail. Jamie Redknapp was born on June 25, 1973, in Barton on the Sea, a coastal village situated in Hampshire, England.
Redknapp attended Twynham School in Christchurch and started playing in the Sunday league youth teams with his brother. Redknapp’s father is football manager Harry Redknapp. Jamie is also the maternal cousin of Frank Lampard, whose father, Frank Lampard Sr., is former West Ham United player and his father’s former managerial assistant. As a footballer, Jamie Redknapp was considered to be a technically gifted and creative midfielder.
Redknapp began his media career in 2004 on BBC during the European Championship. In 2010, he was made host and mentor on the Sky1 show Football's Next Star. In June 2013, Sky Sports announced a brand new show called Saturday Night Football for which Redknapp was the presenter. Redknapp was married to pop star Louise Nurding, a member of the girl group Eternal who has gone on to have a solo career. The couple has two children, Charles William Redknapp, born July of 2004, and Beau Henry Redknapp, born in 2008. The family lived in Oschott, Surrey until 2017 when, after nearly twenty years of marriage, they were divorced.
