Jaqueline Obradors was born in 1966 in the San Fernando Valley, California. She is an American actress of Argentine descent, as both her parents, Angie and Albert Obradors, immigrated from Argentina. Her mother worked for a church, while her father owned an office cleaning business. Before starting her career in acting, Jaqueline worked as a cashier at a Hughes Market in Canoga Park, California.
Obradors began her acting career in 1992 with a role in the television series Parker Lewis Can't Lose. This debut led to appearances in several well-known TV shows, including Diagnosis: Murder, Murder, She Wrote, George Lopez, Franklin & Bash, and The Glades. She gained wider recognition for her role as Detective Rita Ortiz in the long-running ABC crime drama series NYPD Blue.
She made her film debut in Red Sun Rising and later starred opposite Harrison Ford in Six Days, Seven Nights (1998), playing the supporting role of Angelica. For her performance in the film, she received a nomination for a Blockbuster Entertainment Award. Other notable film credits include Tortilla Soup, A Man Apart, Unstoppable, and Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo. In the sitcom Freddie, she portrayed Sofia, the sister of lead character Freddie, played by Freddie Prinze Jr.
In 2001, Obradors expanded her repertoire by voicing the character Audrey Rocio Ramirez in Disney’s animated feature Atlantis: The Lost Empire, a role she reprised in the sequel Atlantis: Milo’s Return. Additionally, she appeared as Detective Elena Vera in the television series Battery Park and guest-starred as Paloma in an episode of NCIS.
