Jason Lee is an American actor and comedian best known for his portrayal of Earl Hickey in the television series My Name is Earl. Jason Michael Lee was born on April 25, 1970, in Santa Ana, California; his father managed a car dealership and his mother was a homemaker. Jason was raised in Huntington Beach, California and attended Ocean View High School. Jason Lee was a professional skateboarder throughout the 1980’s and 1990’s. Lee was a featured player in the promotional skateboarding video produced by Blind Skateboards entitled Video Days. After receiving some minor acting roles, Lee decided to give up skating and focus on acting. His first major role was in the cult classic Mallrats. For his performance as Earl in My Name is Earl, Lee received two Golden Globe nominations for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy in 2006 and 2007.
He was also nominated for the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy Series in 2006. Jason Lee has been engaged three times and married twice. He has as son named Pilot Inspektor with actress Beth Riesgraf. His marriage to Ceren Alkac has produced three children, two daughters, named Casper and Alberta, and a son, named Sonny.
