Jessica Stroup is an American actress born on October 23, 1986, in Anderson, South Carolina, to parents Judith and Don Stroup. During her early childhood, the family relocated to Charlotte, North Carolina. She graduated from Providence High School in 2004. Though she earned a full scholarship to the University of Georgia, Stroup chose to pursue a career in acting instead.
Stroup made her acting debut with a guest role on the Nickelodeon series Unfabulous. She then appeared in a variety of television shows, including Grey's Anatomy, October Road, Reaper, and True Blood. Her breakout role came in 2008 when she was cast as Erin Silver in the reboot of the popular drama series 90210, a continuation of Beverly Hills, 90210. That same year, she portrayed Claire in the horror film Prom Night.
In 2010, Stroup was honored with a "Sparkling Performance" award at the Young Hollywood Awards, recognizing her rising talent in the entertainment industry. The following year, she voiced a character in an episode of Seth MacFarlane’s animated series Family Guy. She also appeared in MacFarlane’s 2012 comedy film Ted, which starred Mark Wahlberg.
