Born in Baltimore, Maryland in the year 1964, Jim Boulden finished his graduate studies in the Kutztown University situated in Pennsylvania, in the year 1986. He received his bachelor degree in Telecommunications with a minor in Political science from the university. He had attended the Dulaney High school graduating in the year 1982.
Profession
Boulden started his career in journalism when he joined PBS premier business program, The Nightly Business Report in Washington DC. He later joined Reuters TV as news correspondent and business producer. He was with Reuters from 1990 to 1995. Boulden later joined CNN in the year 1995 in the London Bureau for the post of package producer. He later covered many major stories across Europe and Asia for the weekly show at CNN, Business Unusual. In the year 2000 and 2001, he produced the show ‘Your Business Your World for CNN’ covering socially conscious issues like Aids from Uganda, blood diamonds debate in South Africa, and the credit issued for the poor in Bangladesh.
Accomplishments
In the year 2002, Boulden was part of the team at CNN, which won the 2001 First Place Headliner News Award for the continuous reporting series they did on the show Attack On America. He was also part of the CNN investigation team in the aftermath of September 11 destruction. He produced and reported on the effects the attack had on other parts of Europe. While working with Reuters, he had covered interesting and path breaking stories like the Kuwait reconstruction after Gulf War, Soviet Union collapse, Maastricht Treaty, unification of East and West Germany, and the introduction of the World Wide Web. He also reported on the improved industrial power in Istanbul, Turkey citing it as proof for its becoming a member of the European Union. He also did a commendable coverage of the 2004 OPEC convention when an increase in production was planned to make up for the rising oil prices.
