Jim is a legendary journalist. Soon after he joined WABC’s investigative team in June 1998, the nation started ripping benefits from his undercover investigations. His work led to major changes in the law, as he brought to light several corrupt deals.

Many corrupt individuals were sent to prison. Consequently, the country experienced sweeping changes in both the federal and the state levels. The investigations made the New York lawmakers close the state’s gun show loophole. 

He later handed a report on then aviation mishaps that forced the senate to have hearings on stricter English testing for the foreign airline pilots. To add on, the Connecticut Legislature was moved to change their state law which now made mental competency to stand trial as a result of several reports that led to the arrest and imprisonment of convicted murderers.
Jim’s wife has been described as the daughter of Washington royalty; her father was former President Jimmy Carter’s national security adviser. He was also a counselor at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, and a professor at the Nitze School of Advanced International Studies at the Johns Hopkins University, in Washington. Her mother, Mary B. Brzezinski, was a sculptor.

Their marriage life of slightly more than two decades has been described as very successful. The couple has lived happily without any major issues of controversy.

Marriage life

Jim Hoofer and his wife Mika Brzezinski met while they were both working at a small Fox Station in Hartford, Connecticut. The two later became engaged and married in 1993. Mika Brzezinski would later state that the time they met was her biggest break where Jim was the star investigative reporter and her husband to be. Mika is an accomplished American journalist and TV host who works for the MSNBC. She is best known for her show, Morning Joe. Jim, just like his wife is very family oriented. Their Tudor style house is filled with their family souvenirs. Their sitting room wall has a piece of driftwood which Mika’s mum collected from Maine - a copy of her father’s photo playing chess and Jim’s Emmy awards. The two have two daughters

For the entire duration of his career, Jim has experienced success first hand. He has won the Emmy awards a whooping five times and was honored with the national Edward R. Murrow award for the series of investigations that he did about the huge utility company, Con Ed. To spice it up, Jim was awarded with the prestigious Columbia University’s DuPont Award for his exposure of the lax security at the nation’s naval bases.

Social life

Even though, Jim has been so successful, he does not enjoy a huge following on his social sites. His wife for example has in excess of a hundred thousand followers yet he boasts of slightly more than ten thousand followers. In fact, Mika has over 110,000 followers on twitter whereas Jim has 4,303. That aside, Jim is a great person with a huge presence in the country.
