Mika Emilie Leonia Brzezinski popularly known as Mika Brzezinski was born on May 2, 1967 in New York City. Early Life

A TV news veteran, Brzezinski is the daughter of former president Jimmy Carter's national security Mr. Zbigniew Brzezinski who is also a counselor at the Center for Strategic and International Studies and a professor at the Nitze School of Advanced International Studies at the Johns Hopkins University, in Washington. Her mother is a sculptor. She has a brother Mark Brzezinski, a diplomat serving from 2011 to 2015 as US ambassador to Sweden.

Education

Mika Brzezinski was a precocious child from the beginning. Her high school years were spent in the renowned The Madeira School located in McLean, Virginia. A hardworking and sincere student with strongly focused career aims, she graduated with a degree in English from Williams College in Williamstown, Massachusetts, in 1989 after getting herself transferred from Georgetown University as a junior. She took this decision as she felt that her new Alma Mater was more suited to education in her chosen field of study. Career Experience

Mika Brzezinski, as mentioned above, graduated in 1989 and started her career in 1990 as a journalist at American Broadcasting Company (ABC's) World News 'This Morning' where she worked as assistance. An astute observer of news and events around her, Mika moved a year later to Hartford, Connecticut, working for Fox-affiliated WTIC-TV/WTIC-DT. Her passion for hard work, sincerity, and focus helped her quickly scale the ladders, and within a couple of years, she was working as general assignments reporter.

Another turning point in her career came from joining WFSB-TV/WFSB-DT in Hartford in 1992. She moved up rapidly, occupying the coveted position of weekday morning anchor within a short duration of three years. In 1997 she joined CBS News Network to work for the channel's highly rated 'Up to the Minute' News program.

Taking a short break from CBS, Mika joined rival MSNBC and, together with her co-anchors, hosted a highly successful afternoon show, HomePage. The show's crowning glory came in with glowing reviews from Entertainment Weekly, which described the trio of Mika, Gina Gaston, and Ashleigh Banfield as "the Powerpuff Girls of journalism."
