Judy Parfitt is an English Theater, television and film actress who started the career at the stage in the year 1954. Judy Catherine Claire Parfitt is her full name and she was born to Catherine Josephine and to Lawrence Hamilton Parfitt.  When she was still young, she went to Notre Dame High School for the girls and afterwards she trained in Royal Academy of Dramatic Art.

In the year 1978, Parfitt did appear together with Frank Finlay, Joan Plowright and Laurence Olivier in Laurence Olivier Presents on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. She created the role in Royal Shakespeare Company of Eleanor for the Passion Play of Peter Nichols.

Judy Parfitt played in many American Shows and the first one was at the beginning of the regular role where she was the Evil Queen as the stepmother of Snow white in the movie Charmings. In the charming second season called Christmas Special, her husband Tony Steedman appeared as the guest star playing Santa Claus. She appeared in the Murder she wrote in one episode and she was Mother of Dr Elizabeth Corday that was played as Alex Kingston on ER in the year 2002.

 Judy Parfitt played as the Lady Mount Temple in the biopic film of Wilde together with Stephen Fry, Gemma Jones and Vannessa RedGrave. In the year 2003, she played as Maria Thins in the Girl with a Pearl Earring. This is the role that made her to have a BAFTA nomination for The Best Actress in the Supporting Role.

She was playing the domineering American dowager called Mrs Van Schuyler and she was playing with James Fox and David Suchet with David Soul.  She played in Poirot of Agatha Christie in the year 2004 for the edition called Death on The Nile. She appeared like the primary villainess of Little Dorrit and like the cruel Mrs Clennam together with Mathew Macfadyen, Sue Johnston and Alun Armstrong.  She started to appear in the BBC TV series known as Call The Midwife in the year 2012. She is playing like Sister Monica Joan who is an elderly nun and she suffers an early stage of the dementia.  Her character has an educational background in the classical literature.
