Background

Kathryn Calhoun Dennis was born in the city of Charleston. She was brought up and raised on her family plantation in the countryside that surrounds her historical hometown. Dennis’ remarkable pedigree, mapped out in her three names, is a rare and special culmination of historically significant families from the south.

She is the granddaughter of Senator Rembert Coney Dennis, he served 50 years in South Carolina’s government. When her grandpa retired in 1989, he left behind a prolific legacy and he is known as the last political giant of that South Carolina era. She is also a direct descendent of John C. Calhoun, the 7th Vice President of the United States under Presidents John Quincey Adams and Andrew Jackson. He was part of the "Great Triumvirate" which dominated American politics for the first half of the 19th century.

Career

TV producers seeked out Dennis because she has an unique understanding and a love for both town and country living. Kathryn is seen as a woman who has the true essence of what it is to be a Southern Belle.
