Early Life and Background

Keith Gordon was born on February 3, 1961, in New York City, New York, to parents Mark Gordon and Barbara Gordon. Raised in a Jewish household, Keith belongs to white ethnicity and spent most of his childhood in New York. His interest in acting developed at a young age, heavily influenced by his father, Mark Gordon, who was both an actor and a stage director. A pivotal moment in Keith's early artistic inspiration came when he saw a Broadway production of Of Mice and Men at the age of 12.

Early Acting Career

Gordon began his acting career at the age of 14 with a role as Herbie in the television series Medical Center in 1975. He gained wider attention at 17 when he was cast as Doug Fetterman in the 1978 blockbuster Jaws 2. His performance in Brian De Palma’s 1980 thriller Dressed to Kill, where he portrayed Peter Miller, marked a significant milestone in his career. He continued building his filmography with roles such as Max Mendelsson in Combat Academy (1986), Dennis Byrd in Home Movies (1980), and Jason Melon in Back to School (1986).

Other notable film credits include Studs Lonigan (1979) as Young Paulie, Meeting Halfway (1979), Single Bars, Single Women (1984) as Lionel, I Love Trouble (1994) as Andy, and Delivering Milo (2001) as Mr. Baumgartner.
