Breakout Roles: All That, Kenan & Kel, and Good Burger

Mitchell rose to further fame through the spin-off sitcom Kenan & Kel, in which he co-starred with Kenan Thompson. The show aired from 1996 to 2000 and featured Mitchell in the role of Kel Kimble. The duo's chemistry was also showcased in the hit film Good Burger, which originated from a recurring sketch on All That. Though often mistaken, Good Burger was not a Disney XD cartoon. Rather, Mitchell voiced the character Ed, and the film was later adapted into various forms, including a sequel on Paramount+.

In addition to their own projects, Kel and Kenan made guest appearances on shows such as Sister, Sister—alongside Tia and Tamera MowryCousin Skeeter, and Sabrina the Teenage Witch.

Animation and Guest Appearances

Mitchell lent his voice to the animated character T-Bone, a gentle and playful dog, in the children's cartoon Clifford the Big Red Dog. He also appeared as a luggage valet in Kanye West's music video for "All Falls Down." In 2003, he auditioned for Saturday Night Live, but the role was ultimately awarded to Kenan Thompson, marking a divergence in their careers.

Independent Projects and Stage Work

In 2008, Mitchell wrote, produced, and starred in the action-comedy film Dance Fu. That same year, he appeared in stage productions in Detroit, including Laundromat and Affairs. The play Laundromat was written by Carlos Faison. These performances demonstrated Mitchell’s range and continued passion for live entertainment.

Television Roles and Later Career

Mitchell portrayed various characters on Attack of the Show! for the G4 network and had a recurring role on the children's series Curious George, aired on PBS Kids. He later reunited with his All That co-stars at the Comikaze Expo, where he famously recited his classic catchphrases from Kenan & Kel.

In more recent years, Mitchell appeared on the Nickelodeon series Sam & Cat as a fictional rap artist named Peezy B, further cementing his connection to youth-focused entertainment.
