Tia Mowry, born Tia Dashon Mowry on July 6, 1978, in Gelnhausen, West Germany, is best known as an accomplished actress on American television. She was born into a close-knit, spiritual Christian family and raised with strong values. Her mother, Darlene Renee Mowry, who is of Afro-Bahamian descent, managed Tia and her siblings' early careers. Her father, Timothy Mowry, is of English descent and served in the U.S. Army, which is how the family came to be stationed in Germany during Tia's birth.
Tia rose to fame in the 1990s, co-starring with her identical twin sister, Tamera Mowry, in the widely popular sitcom Sister, Sister. The show aired from 1994 to 1999 and became a household favorite, cementing the sisters’ place in television history.
