Cory married Tia in April 2008 after having to date her for six years. They got to know each other when Tia and her sister offered him a ride while waiting at the bus stop. He remembers that encounter saying, "I was waiting at a bus stop after shooting my first film. She and her sister drove by, and they saw me waiting and asked to give me a ride. I was embarrassed. I was downtown. They gave me a ride, and we have been friends ever since. They took me to Inglewood, so that's how that relationship started. We were friends, we started dating, and it just went from there."
