Kidada Jones was born march 22, 1974 in Los Angeles, California. She is the daughter of composer/arranger Quincy Jones and actress Peggy Lipton. She was raised with her sister Rashida, who is also an actress, in Bel-Air. She attended the Los Angeles Fashion Institute for Design and Merchandising briefly before leaving at age 19 to work with designer Tommy Hilfiger.
She began working as a celebrity stylist for Vibe magazine, owner by her father. She styled Michael Jackson for the cover in 1995 and was soon recruited by Tommy Hilfiger. He began a campaign that included not only Kidada, but her friends Aaliyah, Kate Hudson, Nicole Richie, and Oliver Hudson. She worked for Hilfiger for eight years and also appeared as model in Elle, Vogue, and Harper's Bazaar. She designed a clothing like for Snoop Dog for three years.
In 2005 Kidada began working at the Walt Disney Company designing a line of clothing and jewelry. In 2017 she published School of Awake which was intended to empower young girls.
Kidada datted LL Cool J for two years from 1992 to 1994. She also lived with and was engaged to Tupac Shakur before his death in 1996. In 2003 she married Jeffery Nash. They divorced in 2006.
