Who is Kym Marsh?
Kym Marsh is an English actress, singer, and songwriter who is born on June 13, 1976, in Whiston, United Kingdom. Her mother was a Lebanese immigrant named Pauline and her father is David Marsh. She grew up in Garswood in the Metropolitan Borough of St Helens with a sister named Tracy and two brothers named David and Jon. Marsh attended the Elliot Clarke Stage School in Liverpool but dropped out after two years. When she left school, Marsh took jobs as a receptionist and a shop assistant. Marsh auditioned for the ITV talent show "Popstars" in 2000 and was among five people chosen to sing for the group Hear'Say. In 2001, the group released their first single "Pure and Simple" and it was an instant hit. The single reached number 1 on the UK Singles Chart in March of 2001 and sold over 500,000 copies.
The group released a second single titled "The Way to Your Love" later that year and it too reached number 1. Marsh toured with Hear'Say until 2002 when she announced she was leaving the group. Marsh eventually signed a solo recording deal with Island Records and released her first single called "Cry". In 2005, Marsh made her acting debut on the BBC One soap opera "Doctors". She dated actor Jamie Lomas since 2008 and the pair were married in 2012. The couple has a daughter together but divorced in 2014.
