During the 60s and 70s, his songs sung by each and every lips, not just those days, his songs are equally popular today’s also and he is alive still in between us. Very versatile Lou Reed, was one of the renowned singer, musician and songwriter. He was born on 2 March 1942 in Brooklyn, New York.He gave several hit songs, among them; Walk on the Wild Side is one.  Above 16 albums had been issued by him; some of them were Berlin and Coney Island Baby.

He got up in Long Island, where he enjoyed his small days. Since, his high school, he developed a high interest in music, during those days he played guitar nicely and gave serious love for music. Same days, he took his underwent electroshock therapy, which was joined by him to cure his bisexuality. He was the student of Syracuse University, where he gained his expertise in writing and film. This is the university, where he fulfilled his graduation degree. Along with the Parady single, he gave the minor hit song in 1964.

The group along with Reed created a band, which they named The Velvet Underground. The group was succeeded to grab attention of the artist called Andy Warhol, who helped them to provide chance to perform in several parties.

European model Nico, who worked as a singer on their first abum. The album named The Velvet Underground & Nico established, it as a one of the most successful album in the rock history. After that, the band went for their next album White Light/White Heat.Then, Warhol and Nico left the band and Cale and Reed became the key member of the band. Subsequently, they released their two albums. Later, he quit the band in 1970, the retirement of his parents was one cause.

Before starting his solo career with RCA records, he did work in his father’s firm. The firm was especially conducted the accounting task. Lou Reed was his first album, which was the re-recorded version of un-set Velbet Underground songs. It was the solo album, which could not get success as expected. Later, he established Transformer in 1972. Not only this, he made several albums with vast different singing style and he was popular for that. Metal Music Machine of 1975 was the electronic double album of him.

In 1980, he got married with British designer Sylvia and couple separated in 2008. Later, he engaged with artist Laurie Anderson. His full name at birth was Lewis Allen Reed.
