Louis Aguirre was born as Louis Juan Aguirre on November 12, 1966 in Miami, Florida. His mother was Aida and his father, Juan worked as an engineer. Louis complete his schooling at Belen Jesuit Preparatory School in 1984. After finishing up his primary schooling, Louis went on to his college phase and enrolled into the University of Miami and also the Université de Paris at La Sorbonne. He was able to leave the University of Miami with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications and he didn’t stop there. He also earned a degree in French.
In the early days of his career, Louis would cover entertainment stories and topics The Insider. He got his start before that saint on another entertainment themed news broadcast called Deco Drive which aired on the Miami station, WSVN.
When Louis was a little boy, he loved to watch variety shows. He always liked to entertain his family and he would learn by watching his favorite TV shows. In an interview with Media Group Lifestyle, he spoke about his early influence, “On Sundays, while my parents slept in, I would put on the ‘Louis Aguirre’ show for my [three younger] sisters. Every show was different, depending on what TV programs were inspiring me. One week, I’d re-enact an episode of ‘The Six Million Dollar Man,’ the next week it would be ‘Star Trek.’ I was a bit of a ham. But, eventually, I knew this would play out in some way, shape or form.”
In 1999, Louis left the popular show Fox and Friends but there was also a bright spot for him in the same year. He started a secret relationship with a man named Matt MacDonald that he had met six years earlier during his time as a local reporter in Miami. After decades, they were still going strong but decided to come out in public about their relationship.
Even though he was in the public spotlight for many years because of his position as a known figure, he did his best to keep his relationship a secret. Before he came out publicly, there were already rumors and speculation about him being a gay man. Since he wasn’t usually spotted with a woman by his side, there were whispers about his sexuality.
The gay couple attended many functions together and were seen together often so they let the media speculate but they never confirmed it. Louis said he never took the stand because no one actually ever asked. It was his boyfriend, Matt that encouraged him to announce it to the public. Louis finally went on air to announce that he was gay.
Louis and Matt are not yet married but it seems like the happy couple will eventually get to that day. Louis has never been involved in a divorce.
