MacKenzie is an American novelist who was born on April 7, 1970, in San Francisco, California, in the United States. Her full name is MacKenzie S. Bezos and she graduated from Hotchkiss School in Connecticut in 1988. MacKenzie went on to attend Princeton University where she graduated with a bachelor's degree in English with highest honors in 1992. MacKenzie studied writing during her time at university and was taught by writer Toni Morrison. She went on to work at a New York City hedge fund called D.E. Shaw where she met her future husband Jeff Bezos. The pair were married in 1993 and a year later moved to Seattle, Washington. They raised four children together, three boys and a girl they adopted from China. MacKenzie's husband Jeff Bezos would go on to found the online retail giant Amazon.
The company was so successful it launched Bezos to the top of the Forbes billionaires list. MacKenzie went on to found an anti-bullying organization called "Bystander Revolution". Bezos' wealth reached $137 billion in 2019 and if Washington state common law applies since their divorce did not have a prenuptial agreement, MacKenzie could become the fifth richest person in the world by taking half of Bezos' wealth.
