Miriam "Midge" Maisel is a fictional character in the American period show "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel" who is a housewife in the 1950s in New York City. She discovers she has a talent for comedy and decides to pursue a career in stand-up comedy despite there being virtually no female comics. The premiere of the show "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel" was well received by critics and viewers alike. The show stands firmly on the shoulders of its main character, Miriam "Midge" Maisel who is played by Rachel Brosnahan. The series has won two Golden Globe Awards for Best Television Series, Musical or Comedy and Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy for Brosnahan's performance. The show has also earned five Primetime Emmy Awards.
The first season was so successful, it was renewed for a third season before the second season had even released. Brosnaham was born on December 15, 1990, and made her film debut in the horror film "The Unborn" in 2009. She also had a lead role in the Netflix series "House of Cards" which also earned a Primetime Emmy Award nomination. The latest season of "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel" was released on December 5, 2018, and has so far been received as well as the first season.
