Background

Marivi Weidman was born on October 18th, 1986 in New York. Her birth name is Marivi Caban. She is half Hawaiian and half Puerto Rican She went to Baldwin Senior High school as a child and after that, she graduated from Hoftsra University in 2004. She works as an auditor at Pricewater House Coopers.

Apart from Marivi’s brother who is mentioned on some internet articles because of his wrestling background, there is no information about her parents and other siblings on the public record. They are only seen sometimes in family photos.

Marriage to a Cage Fighter

Marivi Weidman is married to Chris Weidman who is a Mixed Martial Arts fighter and holds the position of being a top ranked fighter in UFC’s Middleweight division. Marivi met Chris in Long Island, New York when they both were kids. Marivi’s brother was also on the same wrestling team in which Chris was. Marivi’s eventual relationship was made easier by the fact that Chris and Marivi’s brother were friends. They started dating each for some time before getting married to each other in 2009.

The couple had three children together. The kids are named Cassidy Weidman, Colten Weidman and CJ Weidman. Both of them are deeply in love with each other and understand each other completely. Chris is a family person and Marivi adores this great thing about him. They go out to movies together and still love to go out on dates and restaurants for dinners.

Marivi’s brother was a good friend of Chris but even he couldn’t have imagined that the two would end up happily married. Since they both attended Hofstra University, they had another common trait that sparked the relationship. Chris at that time, was also a wrestling coach but had ambitions of breaking into Mixed Martial Arts.

According to Chris’ confession, their first date was remarkable although embarrassing. It happened that that the two were hanging out at the family home of Marivi. At some point, Weidman went on to take a shower and Chris got in a position where he had to use the bathroom. Chris attempted to knock on Marivi’s door but Marivi insisted that she was still showering and he would have to wait. Chris moved back and forth trying to wait out the situation but Marivi seemed to be taking her time in the bathroom. Marivi’s future husband ended up relieving himself in the garbage can. With such a funny first date, Marivi and her then boyfriend started off their dating life.

Husband’s Fighting Career

Marivi encouraged Chris to undertake a journey into MMA since it would have supplemented the income he was earning at Hofstra as coach. Being the caring girlfriend she was, Marivi had warned Chris that if at any point he would have come home with a black eye, it would should be his last time participating in the sport. Chris heeded Marivi’s advice and has since soared to greater heights.
