He played as starting quarterback of Boston College during the year 2005 until 2007 and he led the game to the three bowl victories and for 25-7 record with 32 Starts. He was able to reach to 200 and even more yards for over 15 times and the third time in the history of the school for passing or pass completion. He got the MVP for the game honors of the 2005 MPC computer bowl.

In the year 2007, Ryan helped his team to reach to ACC Atlantic Division Championship and he was called ACC Player for the year.
