Cavanagh was presented in The Flash's first season as Harrison Wells and his impersonator Eobard Thawne, and he's played an alternate form of Wells in each season since. Cavanagh conceded that after his first season run as Harrison Wells/Reverse-Flash was done, he didn't know how he could return.

When he was asked as to whether he suspected his time on the show was done after the principal season, he proceeded, "There was some discussion of just playing Harrison Wells, and I wasn't interested. I was there to be Reverse-Flash. That was a necessity that was born out the fact that the show managed to sustain itself and so, for me to be the guy that is on a long-running show and playing multiple characters."

Tom said being on a show that has been on the air as long as The Flash has is special and he's thankful for the chance, calling it a stunning benefit. During Comic-Con, The Flash's showrunner Eric Wallace affirmed that the up and coming 6th season of the TV show will feature two new bad guys, with one of them being Dr Ramsey Rosso otherwise known as Bloodwork.
