Megan Glaros was born on March 14, 1972, in Dyer, Indiana, a town located approximately 35 miles southeast of Chicago. She pursued her higher education at Texas Christian University and Indiana University, where she majored in both atmospheric sciences and journalism. During her youth, Megan was active in dance from the age of six and worked as a professional model throughout her high school and college years.
In 2002, she briefly served as an NFL cheerleader for the Indianapolis Colts before launching her career in broadcast meteorology.
Megan Glaros began her career in weather forecasting in 2002 at a station in Parkersburg, West Virginia. She soon advanced to a position with the Sinclair Broadcast Group in Baltimore, Maryland, where she was responsible for forecasting weather for up to five cities in a single night, showcasing both her expertise and adaptability.
In September 2004, Megan transitioned to the South Florida market, taking on the role of morning meteorologist for WPLG-TV Local 10. There, she also hosted the station’s "SportsJam Live" program. Her tenure in Florida coincided with a highly active hurricane season, during which she covered major storms including Hurricane Katrina, Hurricane Rita, and Hurricane Wilma.
Her experience and skill led to national attention, and she was selected as a fill-in weather presenter for "Good Morning America" on several occasions.
In May 2008, Megan joined WCBS-TV (not WBS-TV) in New York as the weekend morning meteorologist and weekday entertainment reporter. Her career reached a new milestone in August 2010 when she joined WBBM-TV, the CBS-owned and -operated station in Chicago, as the weekday morning meteorologist.
Megan Glaros holds the prestigious AMS Seal of Approval from the American Meteorological Society, granted to her in 2006 in recognition of her professional excellence. She is also an active member of the National Weather Association.
In 2003, Megan married Lance Bruggeman, who maintains a private lifestyle away from the media spotlight. The couple resides in St. John, Indiana, located about 45 miles southeast of Chicago.
They have three children together. Their first daughter, Lana, was born on February 11, 2010. In June 2012, Megan gave birth to twins—a son named Leo and a daughter named Willow.
