Michael Weatherly

Michael Manning Weatherly was born on July 8, 1968, in New York City. He was raised in Fairfield, Connecticut, by his parents, Patricia O’Hara and Michael Manning Weatherly Sr. Michael has a brother named Will Weatherly and is of Irish descent. He attended Fairfield Country Day School during his early education.

Education and Early Career

Following high school, Weatherly attended Boston College and also took classes at American University and Menlo College. However, he eventually left college to pursue an acting career. He made his television debut with a role on the sitcom The Cosby Show, followed by a regular role in the daytime soap opera Loving. In 1995, he appeared on the television drama The City, a spin-off of Loving.

Breakthrough and Notable Roles

Weatherly relocated to Los Angeles to continue his career in television and film. His breakthrough came with a starring role as Ben Chasen in the short-lived series Significant Others. In 1998, he appeared in Whit Stillman’s film The Last Days of Disco, having met the director during the filming of Significant Others.

In 2000, he gained further recognition for his co-starring role as Logan Cale in the sci-fi action series Dark Angel, which ran from 2000 to 2002. That same year, he appeared in the action-comedy film Gun Shy, written and directed by Eric Blakeney and produced by Sandra Bullock. Weatherly also had guest roles in a number of television shows including Jesse, Spy Game, Pier 66, and The Crow: Stairway to Heaven.
