Personal life

Michelle Fitzgerald was born to Ralph and Linda Fitzgerald in Freehold Township, New Jersey. She grew up there and still stays in Freehold. She got her education from Freehold High School, in Freehold Borough. From there, she moved on to enroll herself at Montclair State University in New Jerseya.

She completed her education with a Bachelor of Arts degree in communication and media studies from the aforementioned university. She has two siblings, a sister named Kim and a brother named Joe. She says she takes inspiration from Harry Potter, the main protagonist from J.K. Rowling’s popular book series. Her hobbies involve reading and bartending, which made her choose bartending as an occupation, once. However, she is an extrovert as well. Travelling is her favourite hobby. Rock climbing is a sport, she enjoys.

Career

Fitzgerald worked as a caterer and then, she joined an organisation called Rock the Earth, as an intern. The main objective of this organisation was to go to various music events and raise awareness of environmental issues. She says she thoroughly enjoyed her time with Rock the Earth as she was able to travel and at the same time listen to music and also also make people aware of important environmental issues. She then began working as a bartender. It was around this time she started on Survivor.

In 2015, in the 32nd season of the show Fitzgerald was chosen as one of the contestants. She was not a favourite to win the game in the beginning but as time passed, she garnered enough popularity to get her the votes needed to win. In the beginning, she was assigned as a “Beauty” to the Gondol Tribe at the end, but gradually she rose in ranks by making beneficial alliances.

At the Final Four Tribal Council, she tried to eliminate Bracco but failed but had enough votes not to be ousted from the competition. At the Final Three Tribal Council, Fitzgerald voted to remove Gottlieb from the jury, who left with the parting message that Fitzgerald had no hopes of winning at all.

In the end, Fitzgerald won with five votes defeating Bracco who had two and Trang who had zero. This accomplishment boosted her popularity and also added quite a bit of money to her bank balance. When she was asked why she wanted to enter the contest, she said it was her adventurous nature that made her do it! She also said she was in it for the money. Well, now with a net worth of around 600 thousand dollars, she probably does not have to worry about money any more. She is active on twitter and Instagram as well having a good fan following.
