Mike Seccombe biography

Mike Seccombe is an Australian journalist who currently serves as the national correspondent for The Saturday Paper and who appears regularly as a panelist on ABC television.  Mike Seccombe covered national affairs and politics for The Sydney Morning Herald from 2006-2011. Mike Seccombe is an advocate for same-sex marriages and believes that Australian law should be changed to recognize same sex partnerships as marriages.

Mike Seccombe is critical of the Liberal Howard Government and believes it has created a more divided Australia with entrenched privilege and inequality. Mike Seccombe believes that political stacking, the purging of experienced members, and the abandonment of merit-based appointments has left the Administrative Appeals Tribunal in chaos and is responsible for creating a backlog of nearly fifty three thousand unresolved cases.

Mike Seccombe is also known for criticizing the Liberal Abbot Government for having too many practicing Christians and believes the government was out of step with social expectations on the environment.
