Nate Torrence

The comic actor Nathen Andrew Torrence was born on 1st day of December 1977 and brought up in Canton, Ohio. Nate’s family had a bed and breakfast family business in Berlin.  He had his studies done from the Hiland High School in Berlin. He carried out his higher studies from the Stark Campus of the Kent State University. Torrence was inclined to comedy and therefore he went to Illinois, Chicago to attend the Second City’s Players workshop. Torrent had his own ideas for comedy which he was keen to implement. He then joined a comedy group to impoverish his comic skills. The troupe was known by the name Corn, Beef and Cabbage and Nate took in the role of writer and performer. On stage he was accompanied by his elder brother and friend Jay and Josh Ruth respectively. Torrence, in order to sharpen his skills went to more Plyers workshops like Second City in LA and Cleveland and also Comedy Sports and The Groundings in LA.

Torrence has been active on screen since the year 2003 and has appeared in various television shows since then. A few TV series which had his cameo appearance are CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, How I met your Mother, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and Supernatural etc. A regular repeating role of Dylan Killington in the sitcom series Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip was a step forward to success for him. Next he also starred in a comedy of few episodes, Mr. Sunshine. He was also called upon in the year 2006 for being a taster on the season two of Top Chef.

Talking about the world of advertising, Torrence has done commercials for a large number of products. A few noted amongst them are Volkswagen, NFL.com and Golden Grahams. The ‘What’s in your wallet advertising campaign,’ got him his career’s best commercial where he played a credit card CSR, the campaign was for Capital One.

He got quite noticed for his role of a lab assistant named Lloyd in the movie Get Smart, which was further rediscovered in another version of the film which was named as Get Smart’s Bruce and Lloyd: Out of Control. Other roles which he did was of a crazy boxer in the film Reno 911 and of Devon in the comedy flick She’s out of my League in the year 2010.He has also voiced for the animated character Chuck in Motorcity. Then came the show Hello Ladies, which got Nate famous in almost every household by the name of Wade Bailey, a character in the show. The ABC comedy show Super Fun Night also stars him in a repeating role.
