Education and Early Achievements

Briscoe attended Hononegah Community High School in Illinois, where she excelled both academically and in extracurricular activities. A member of the school’s cheerleading team and later a cheerleader captain, she demonstrated leadership and enthusiasm from a young age. In 1998, she was crowned Miss Illinois Teen USA and subsequently competed in the Miss Teen USA pageant held in Shreveport, Louisiana, where she placed as a semi-finalist, ranking eighth overall. She continued participating in pageantry and in 2001 became the first runner-up in the Miss Illinois USA competition.

Following her high school graduation in 1998, Briscoe enrolled at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Illinois. There, she pursued higher education while also preparing for a future career in broadcasting, underlining her commitment to both academic and professional growth.

Broadcast Journalism Career

Nicole Briscoe launched her broadcasting career shortly after completing her degree. Her first role was at WREX-TV in Rockford, Illinois, where she gained initial experience in the industry. She went on to join WANE-TV in Fort Wayne, Indiana, working as a general assignment reporter. Building on her experience, she later moved to WISH-TV in Indianapolis, where she enhanced her reputation by covering major sports events such as the U.S. Grand Prix and the Indianapolis 500.

Her passion for motorsports and sports journalism led her to report on key regional teams and events, including coverage of the NBA’s Indiana Pacers and extensive reporting from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. In May 2006, Briscoe announced her departure from WISH-TV via an article in the Indianapolis Star newspaper. She subsequently joined Speed Channel in Charlotte, North Carolina, where she co-hosted The Speed Report, a motorsports program airing on Sundays.
