Noel Edmonds is an English television presenter who is most widely known for his work on the Channel 4 game show Deal or No Deal. Edmonds hosted the British game show, which features a single contestant trying to beat a banker, from 2005 until 2016. Noel Ernest Edmonds was born on December 22, 1948, in Ilford, Essex, England; he is the son of a headmaster. Edmonds attended Glade Primary School in Clayhall and Brentwood School in Essex. Rather than go to University, Edmonds took a job as a newsreader for Radio Luxembourg. From there, Edmonds moved to BBC Radio 1 where he worked for thirteen years. Edmonds is a believer in cosmic ordering; a version of positive thinking in which one merely needs to write something down on a wish list to make it become reality.

He has written a book on the subject entitled Positively Happy: Cosmic Ways to Change Your Life. Noel Edmonds has been married three times. His first marriage, to Gillian Slater, lasted eleven years but ended in divorce. He married his second wife, Helen Soby, with whom he has four daughters, in 1986; the couple was divorced in 2005. Edmonds married his third wife, Liz Davies, a makeup artist on Deal or No Deal, in 2009.
