Novak Djokovic was born in Serbia into a family with a strong athletic background. His parents, Dijana and Srdjan Djokovic, were accomplished athletes and owners of a sports complex that included a tennis academy and restaurants. It was at this facility that Djokovic first picked up a tennis racket, beginning his journey in the sport at the age of four. He has held the world No. 1 ranking in men's singles by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) for a record total of over 400 weeks, finishing as year-end No. 1 on multiple occasions.

As of this writing, Djokovic has won 24 Grand Slam singles titles, the most in men’s tennis history. At the time when he had secured his 12th Grand Slam title, he tied with the legendary Roy Emerson. He is the first Serbian player to be ranked No. 1 by the ATP and the first male player representing Serbia to win a Grand Slam singles title.

Throughout his career, Djokovic has been coached by several prominent figures in tennis, including former Slovak professional Marian Vajda and six-time Grand Slam champion Boris Becker. His coaching team has played a crucial role in refining his game and contributing to his immense success.
