Paula Faris

Paula Faris is an American TV anchor and media person, known for her work in the ABC News. She was known for hosting shows like “America This Morning” and “World News Now”. She started her job as a sales girl in the radio, and also some communication- related jobs. Due to very limited TV networks, she was not able to grab any TV related jobs in the beginning. Then, her first major job was as a production assistant in the WKEF/WRGT channel. Working there from a lower level, she was soon promoted to the anchor level and became a reporter for the channel. Her second job saw her work at the WCPO-TV located in Cincinnati, where she handled the sports section and worked as a sports anchor between 2002 and 2005, for three years. During this time, she made considerable progress on her career and was recognized for her work in the USA.

Paula was born on the 26th of October, 1975 in Jackson, Michigan, U.S.A. She was born into a Lebanese immigrant family, but is an American by nationality to father Edward and mother, Carol. Her parents got married in Lebanon and after moving into the States, settled down in Michigan where Paula was born. She is an American by nationality, and is of mixed Jordanian ethnicity. She attended Jackson Christian School. She is a graduate of Cedarville University with a degree in broadcasting with an emphasis in television production. She graduated from there in 1997.

After graduation, Faris held several communications-related jobs including an operations position at Mills/James Productions in Columbus, Ohio. She held a job in radio sales, due to limited television opportunities.

She joined ABC in the year 2012, and having worked for just 3 years till now, has built a reputation. Before ABC, she was working for WMAQ-TV in Chicago, which is the associate of NBC. After working there for 6 years, Faris joined ABC and started to co- host show like World News Now from the January of 2012. Hosting another show named America This Morning, she would also appear at times in the Good Morning America show, which was hosted by Rob Nelson. A year after joining the channel, she was promoted as was allowed to host all of the ABC News programs.

Although her best was seen in America this Morning, she left the show in the January of 2013, after being promoted for the ABC World News on February, 2013. The show, which was initially run by David Muir was handed over to Paula after David left for another TV channel. With a sudden rise to her fame, the TRP of the channel started to rise and so did the personal amount of salary for Paula. She started the show from February, and by the July of the same year was promoted as the co-host of ABC’s Good Morning America. The show which was previously run by Bianna Golodryga, had the post vacant after she left to work for Yahoo! News. Since then, Paula has been running the Good Morning America Weekend show since then.
