Pep Guardiola

Pep Guardiola was born on 18 January 1971 in Spain. He was born to a football playing family as his father as well as his brother played the game. He started to play the game at a very young age and got into the La Masia at a very young age of 13 years. He learned his skills at the Barcelona Youth team and later played for the team as well. He was one day seen by the then coach of Barcelona the legendary Johan Cruyff who wanted him to play in the midfield. Seeing at how he adapted he was impressed by the young Guardiola and later promoted him to the senior team.

He started to play in the Barcelona senior team in 1991 when he was just 20. The very first year he won the La Liga under Cruyff and coaches from all over the world started drooling over his ability and skill. He helped Barcelona win 4 constitutes La Liga trophies. He also helped them to reach the UEFA Champions league final but were beaten by Milan which saw Cruyff leave the club. Guardiola, however, became even more important player than before and trophies continued to come his way. He stayed with the club for an astounding 12 years before leaving it by joining Roma where he was banned for 4 months under doping charges. He was however later cleared of all the charges. He played in Qatar at the end of his playing career and then retires as a player.

He now went on another journey in the game and this time he was the coach of the Barcelona B team. A year later after helping the B team in the promotion he was appointed as the coach of the senior team. After being appointed he transferred a lot of senior players to other clubs as he didn't want them in the team. In his first season itself he won the La Liga, Champions league and the domestic cups to complete the treble. In the process, he became the youngest coach to win the champions league.

He won an astounding number of trophies with Barcelona and later taking a break in 2012. He returned to coaching again in the year 2013 when he joined Bayern Munich. He helped Bayern win the Bundesliga in the first season itself. He became known for his tactics and the news spread about his intellect. At this point, he became one of the most desired coaches of the world. He helped Bayern win the Bundesliga again in the second season and dominate the German league. He however couldn't win the Champions league with bayern.

In 2016 he joined the English side Manchester city on a three-year contract. He is doing great in the premier league currently sitting 4 behind the league leader Chelsea, Liverpool, and Tottenham hotspurs. He is married to Cristina Serra and lives in Manchester with his wife. He has two children. His salary is highest among football coaches which make his net worth $50 million.
