American actress Peri Gilpin was born on May 27, 1961 in Waco, Texas. She had initial last name Oldham because her father was James Oldham and her mother Sandra Jo Hauck. However, her parents have been married for a short time, they divorced and Peri stayed with her mother. After some time, her mother found her second husband Allen W Gilpin and Peri took his last name. Her biological father, Jim Oldham after divorce became a popular radio disc jockey in Philadelphia.
Peri Gilpin with her mother and stepfather moved to Dallas, where she spent all her childhood. Her parents have seen Peri’s passion to acting and they encouraged her to develop her talent. In 2007, she played in television drama series Medium, Desperate Housewives, Crossroads: A Story of Forgiveness, Side Order of Life, Law & Order: Criminal Intent. All these roles were episodic. Currently she is working upon her role as Katherine Cooper in action drama Scorpion.
