Background and Age

Phil Black was born in Australia. He got his associate diploma in Journalism at Macleay College in Sydney.

Career and Net Worth

Phil Black started his career in journalism when he joined the Getaway program on Channel Nine in Australia. He worked as a researcher and dealt with logistical planning for the teams that did travel stories all over the world. He worked with the channel for five years holding the post of producer initially and then moved on to reporting.

He then shifted to the job of correspondent at Seven News, which is considered to be the highest rated news program in Australia. He worked for over seven years there. When Phil Black was with Seven News in Sydney, he covered stories including the City Rail crisis, 2002 Christmas bushfires, the Red fern riots, the Asian Tsunami in 2004, and reported on Bathurst after Peter Brock’s death.

He later joined CNN International in 2007 as a freelance reporter. The stories he covered at CNN include the London terror attacks, Princess Diana inquest, McCartney-Mills divorce, Finnish school shootings, and the Madeleine McCann search. He also covered the conflict between Russia and Georgia over the issue of South Ossetia and the pay for access scandal surrounding Sarah, Duchess of York in 2010.

He was hired as a CNN correspondent in Moscow in the year 2011. There he covered many high profile stories in the Russian region like the re-election of Vladimir Putin as President and the much talked about the arrest of the protests involving Pussy Riot, a punk rock group.

Marriage, Wife, and Kids

Phil Black married comedian and entertainment personality, Ellie Taylor in 2014. Their wedding ceremony took place in London.

In October 2009, Ellie Taylor was at the earliest reference point of her comedy career. Working normal everyday employment in entertainment and attempting to plan gigs as an afterthought, 2009 was the start of something uncommon for the comedian and writer.

In the span of ten years, and Taylor has cut out a spot for herself in the behemoth that is the British comedy industry. In the moderately brief timeframe period since her first gig at an open-mic night, she has landed customary openings on both BBC2's The Mash Report and Mock The Week, and appeared as a guest on everything from 8 Out Of 10 Cats to QI.

She's figured out how to appear as both a featured demonstration and a host on the BBC stand-up comedy series Live At The Apollo and figured out how to feature three UK tours.

When asked by Stylist magazine what she was reading ten years ago in 2009, she said "It probably would have been Harry Potter. Still now, if I’m ever feeling a bit stressed, I’ll go back into Harry Potter. It’s always friendly: a safe place. Hogwarts is comforting. Otherwise, since the invention of Audible, I listen to books instead. I’m not very good at reading non-fiction but I’m better at listening to it, so I consume more non-fiction now because of that, which I didn’t do before."
