Collins has been married three times, with each marriage ending in divorce. His first marriage was to Andrea Bertorelli, whom he met during a drama class in London. The couple had a son, Simon Collins, who followed in his father's musical footsteps. In addition, Collins adopted Andrea’s daughter, Joely Collins, a Canadian actress.

In 1980, he met his second wife, Jill Tavelman. They married in 1984 and had one daughter, Lily Collins, who later became a successful actress. The couple separated in 1994, and their divorce was finalized in 1996. Jill reportedly received a divorce settlement of £17 million.

Collins married his third wife, Orianne Cevey, in 1999. The couple had two sons together. Their relationship ended in 2006, and they finalized their divorce in 2008. Orianne received a settlement of approximately £25 million ($33 million USD), which contributed significantly to the reported total of $42 million in alimony Collins has paid across his divorces.

Views on Marriage and Personal Philosophy

By 2010, Collins stated publicly that he had no plans to ever marry again. He has expressed that he does not see himself as “husband material” and prefers to avoid further emotional and financial turmoil. Despite his reservations about marriage, Collins has been seen in public with his girlfriend, Dana Tyler, a television journalist. While they appeared frequently together, he was clear about not intending to remarry.

Collins has spoken about maintaining amicable relationships with his ex-wives. He once mentioned that they occasionally had dinner together, although it remains unknown whether Dana was ever present during those gatherings. He has also referred to his ex-wives with affection and stated in interviews that he still has love for them, contributing to his reluctance to enter into another formal relationship.
