At the age of eighteen, Poppy Montgomery relocated to the United States and settled in Los Angeles to pursue a career in acting. She initially landed smaller roles in television throughout the 1990s, gradually building experience in various productions.
Her breakout role came in 2001 when she portrayed the iconic Marilyn Monroe in the CBS miniseries Blonde, an adaptation of the Joyce Carol Oates novel. This performance garnered critical attention and helped pave the way for her casting in Without a Trace, which aired from 2002 to 2009 and remained one of CBS’s strong procedural dramas during its run.
